- It is quite difficult to label the Music you create, and I think this is a quality for your Band, because you have succeeded in melting various and so different (sometimes apparently in contrast each other) influences in an unique Obscure amalgam. And I find really enchanting the way the deep voice of Alessio “dominates” all these different atmospheres… how did the story of the Band begin? (I mean, regarding both the line up and the musical research. Actually, half of the musicians involved in the release of your debut demo have left the Band)
We started with the idea of creating something particular, unusual, and this is the reason why our Music can’t be easily labelled. In order to reach this goal we have tried to take inspiration from many different kind of Music, trying to don’t “ossify” our Music on a definite genre. In this way we have tried to melt different sounds. This caused (a part some negative critics about our Music) some split up with the original line up of the Band.
But we will continue on our personal way!
- The new year will see the Band featured in a new release: a compilation edited by the Italian Label CastleWood…Which song will be featured in? A song from your last demo or a new one?
The song we have chosen is “Ancient Dust”, from our last Demo-CD. At the moment we haven’t got any further info regarding this compilation.
- Again speaking about “news”: which are the projects of the Band in this period? Collaborations? Concerts? New inspirations for new compositions?
A Radio based in Udine (Italy) has found our work really interesting, and some of our songs will be featured regularly in their playlist. We have received also many positive reviews regarding our last Demo, the Webzine “L’Erba della Strega” (Italian Gothic Portal, ndr) has granted us a page on their website. We will soon play to a little Gothic Festival near Asti.
Well, we are greatly inspired and we continue working on new songs. We are also searching for a serious label interested in producing our Works.
- Oh well I have to admit this is a boring and banal question but…I know you have recently changed the monicker of your Band (due to homonymy, if I’m not wrong)…Why the choice of “the head stops”? In my opinion it’s a really “strong” name… which is its inner meaning?
“Head stops” was a term used in the English Sculpture (around the XIII Century) to indicate the numerous heads placed under the “backsliding” of the archways. There’s an incredible number of these heads, and often they surprise the observer for the psychological shades they express.
The choice of our new Band’s name hasn’t got a precise aim, perhaps it is meant to express “dismay”…
- Your new Website is finally on line. Thanx to that, I had the chance to read the lyrics of your songs! According to me, also the lyrics are “strong”, thanks to metaphors: “Ghosts in my eyes Full of blood tears That like razors slash my face…” and “The beauty smelt of soaked leaves Like
the beauty smelt of loneliness and pain “ just to name the ones that have impressed me most…
So, lyrics strong as Feelings…
Our lyrics mostly deal with Feelings and Moods; since we have a “Romantic” concept of Music, we can say that some of our songs have got the aim to arouse and investigate the human “heart”.
